The latest in the line of Cobra Mustangs has officially arrived and it looks to be carrying on the tradition proudly.
Ford debuted the 2016 Cobra Jet Mustang at the Specialty Equipment Marketing Association, or SEMA, Show in Las Vegas on Tuesday, and though it's meant for the hot rod race track, 50 of these beasts will also be sold to the general population.

On the track, the 2016 Cobra Jet can complete a quarter-mile run in just eight seconds, according to Ford.
The Cobra Jet Mustang line dates back to 1968, with the modern program picking up in 2008 and following with 50-car releases in 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2014.
Based on the 2015 Mustang, the 2016 Cobra Jet is made of 75 percent Mustang GT parts and is assembled in Ford's Flat Rock Assembly Plant in Michigan. The car will come with a starting price of $99,990 with optional graphics and wheelie bar, which cost an extra $1,995 each.
The modern Cobra Jet Mustang program started with 50 cars for the 2008 model year, continuing with 50-unit limited builds in 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2014.
